Under the Erasmus+ programme, doctoral students can go abroad to undertake traineeships (Student Mobility for Traineeships).
Mobility may only take place to:
- higher education institutions from Erasmus+ programme countries with a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE);
- higher education institutions from outside the Erasmus+ programme countries that have signed an inter-institutional agreement with IPPT PAN,
- any private or public entity from an EU country operating in the field of education, training or research and innovation (e.g. enterprises, including SMEs, public entities at
- local/regional/national level, foundations, research institutes, embassies and consulates),
- non-profit organisations, associations, NGOs,
- entities offering career development counselling.
Recruitment
Recruitment for traineeship mobility is conducted in accordance with the call for applications issued by the Erasmus+ Program Committee at the IPPT PAN on December 20, 2025.
Applications documents must be submitted to the Erasmus+ Program Coordinator along with:
- an invitation from the host institution,
- a brief description of motivation for the traineeship.

Before departure
After qualifying for the trip, the following documents must be submitted:
- Learning Agreement / Student Mobility for Traineeship - prepared by the outgoing doctoral student in consultation with their supervisor and the host institution
- agreement with IPPT PAN for the trip - prepared by the Erasmus+ team at IPPT PAN,
- travel application - prepared by the Erasmus+ team at IPPT PAN.
During your stay
During the mobility period, you must:
- achieve the objectives of the trip in accordance with the Learning Agreement,
- report and officially approve any changes to the Learning Agreement (section: During the Mobility),
- obtain a mobility certificate confirming the dates of your stay and the activities completed (original document signed by the host institution).
Upon return
After completing the mobility programme, you must:
- submit a mobility certificate to the Erasmus+ Coordinator,
- complete a report in the Beneficiary Module system,
- in the case of a so-called green journey, attach copies of tickets and a statement confirming that you travelled using low-carbon means of transport.
Funding
Training mobility participants receive:
- a fellowship for the duration of their stay
- a lump-sum travel allowance
- additional support for PhD students with special needs (if applicable).
The rates are specified in the call for applications.
Additionally, IPPT PAN provides an insurance policy covering medical expenses, accident insurance, and liability insurance.
Green travel - we encourage you to use low-emission transportation (e.g., train, bus, public transit). This option is rewarded with a higher travel allowance.
If part of the trip was financed from sources other than Erasmus+, settlement is carried out in accordance with the rules applicable at IPPT PAN for business trips.
