From 17 to 21 May 2026, the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPPT PAN) in Warsaw is hosting the 3rd International Conference AMBRA – Advanced Materials for Bio-Related Applications. The event is dedicated to cutting-edge materials and technologies for biomedical, environmental, and agricultural applications.;

The conference is organized by the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of Polish Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research PAS and Wrocław University of Science and Technology. AMBRA 2026 brings together researchers, engineers, clinicians, and industry representatives from Poland and abroad to discuss the latest scientific and technological developments in advanced materials engineering, nanotechnology, and biomaterials.

The primary objective of the conference is to present recent research achievements and innovative technological solutions while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of expertise among academia, medicine, and industry.

The scientific program covers a broad range of topics, including bioactive materials, nanotechnology, bioimaging, intelligent radiotherapy, implants and biomaterials in clinical practice, tissue engineering, nanomaterial safety, advanced delivery systems for active substances in medicine and agriculture, as well as technologies aimed at improving food safety and production efficiency.

Particular emphasis is placed on biomaterials and nanomaterials designed for biological, medical, environmental, and agricultural applications. Participants are also discussing emerging research directions in biomechanics, orthopedic and cardiovascular surgery, pharmaceuticals, sensor technologies, and antibacterial materials.

The conference is held under the patronage of the Polish Biochemical Society, the Polish Chemical Society, the Polish Materials Science Society, and the Polish Society for Biomaterials. Honorary patronage has been granted by the City of Warsaw and the Marshal Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The event also includes a poster session during which participants present the results of their research projects. All accepted abstracts are automatically entered into a competition for scientific awards. Distinctions for the Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster have been sponsored by the journal Nanomaterials.

According to the organizers, AMBRA 2026 serves as an important international platform integrating scientific and industrial communities around the challenges of modern medicine and sustainable development. They emphasize that advances in modern materials science are becoming increasingly crucial for the future of medical, environmental, and agricultural technologies.
