On November 15, 2019, Rector of Warsaw Univeristy of Technology awarded the M. Wolfke Prize for outstanding scientific publications to prof. Tomasz Lewinski, dr. Tomasz Sokół and dr. Cezary Graczykowski (the latter of IPPT PAN) for the monograph "Michell Structures" published at Springer, 2019. The monograph concerns the topology optimization of engineering structures. It covers both theory and examples of Michell structures, being the lightest, fully stressed bar systems bearing a given static load at a given set of support points.
